Design Exercise / Carpark miniscape

• Brief :
to demarcate a small 1.5m x 2.4m green area
to create a sense of belonging in an anonymous rows of car park
to utilized pre-existing elements as part of the design
to explore working with plants
to configure a method for less maintenance, decay is part of the design

Sketches / early ideas

I find that concrete paving is one way to control grass

Over the years...

Building management cut a neighboring tree.. destroying the landscape

decay is part of the design.. this include the cracked paving due to the fallen tree. grass creeping through the gaps.

the same frangipani tree replanted into a new pot. The same heliconia plants that was totally squash by the tree.. eventually regrow.

the rewards

What I learn.. Landscaping is a constant negotiation with nature.. A constant negotiation in between order vs. chaos.
